A central anything means they control it and can monitor it but YOU cannot. Bitcoin on the other hand is something everyone can monitor and they cannot control.

In my view, Bitcoin and the likes were implanted into society as the precursor of the CBDCs, like everything else.... aimed mainly at us people that do not always go along with the usual BS narrative. As for saying it is "something everyone can monitor and they cannot control."... no offence Kalle, but of course they can control it and even just shut it down at the flip of a switch if required - why haven't they ?.

The CBDCs are just another nail in our coffin of free speech, individualism and freedom in general... it is part of your digital wallet that will encompass every minute, every action of our lives ..... if we succumb - which the vast majority already have.

Yes, you are possibly right. I like to believe in the goodness of people so trust that the intentions were noble. However I also accept that it is being used to shift sentiment and cause precedent with all good used to promote CBDC and all bad used to demonise decentralised systems.

Peter Goettler said Suggesting CBDCs can be made privacy friendly is a smokescreen as the benefits the government wants from them demand them to have no privacy.
